The Last of Us: Joel's Watch Update!
Thank you to everyone who helped vote in ideas and options for our new watch concept for Joel. Here’s a preview of what our concept artwork looks like and will be showing to the studio.

Some of the options/features included are;
40mm size watch case, made of 316 stainless steel, with a brushed silver finish. The watch will be powered by a Swiss quartz movement. For the crystal, most people wanted the cracked glass but were still doing research on that option, if not we will go with a sapphire crystal. The strap of choice is a ballistic nylon nato strap.

We will post an update soon once we hear back from them.
In the meantime, read more about why the watch is so significant in the game.
Throughout the game, Joel's watch is a significant element of the story. It is a personal item that Joel has kept with him since before the outbreak, and it serves as a reminder of his past and his connection to his daughter Sarah, who died at the beginning of the outbreak. The watch is also a symbol of Joel's humanity and his capacity for love and compassion, as he develops a father-daughter relationship with Ellie and begins to care for her as he did for Sarah. Overall, Joel's watch plays a pivotal role in the narrative and character development of The Last of Us.
The watch is a symbol of Joel's love for his daughter and his grief over her death. It is revealed in the game's prologue that Joel's watch was a gift from Sarah for his birthday, and it has sentimental value to him. After Sarah's death, Joel continues to wear the watch as a way of keeping her memory alive and holding onto his connection to her.
In addition to representing Joel's connection to his daughter, the watch also serves as a reminder of the world before the outbreak. It is a tangible object that connects Joel to his past and the life he had before everything changed.
